Aleph Amplifier PCB Set
|Welcome to the product information page for the Aleph Amplifier pcb set.The Aleph amplifier PCB set is scalable and can support multiple Aleph designs:
Implementation details can be found in the Pass Labs service manuals:
The mini Aleph configuration started with a thread on diyAudio by Grey Rollins, exploring the idea of creating a 10w Aleph. This idea has been expanded on, through starting with the Aleph30 and removing 2 pairs of output devices. This adds the advantages of the Aleph30, in a 10w version: balanced input, higher input impedence, and an improved input network. The original Mini-A thread can be found here:
The Aleph 30 configuration is the newest Aleph amplifiers from Pass Labs (now discontinued) and use the same 2 stage design, but offer a higher input impedence. Compared to the Aleph 3, the Aleph 30 uses more parallel devices, which lowers the distortion, improves the damping factor by about 50% and allows for a higher bias current. More information on the Aleph 30 can be found in the owner’s manual:
Regarding the power supply configuration, 1 power supply is needed for a stereo amp, and for monoblocks, 2 power supply boards are needed. More details are available on the Power Supply PCB page.
Here is a parts list, containing the required components needed for building either a mini Aleph or Aleph 30 using the amplifier pcb set:
